Terms of Service
Effective October 26, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and ? ("we", "us"), who operates Scrounge. By using Scrounge or logging in, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Scrounge.
1. Who can use Scrounge
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they must agree to these Terms and approve any purchase. If you use Scrounge for an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
2. Your account
You log in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at legal@opossumware.net if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put on your boards. You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content only to run Scrounge for you. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups, which expire within 30 days.
You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload or add from a link, and that it does not break the law or these Terms.
When you share a board, the people you invite can see, add to, change, and delete anything on it, and you are responsible for who you invite. When you add content to a board someone else shared with you, you give the board's owner and the people on it permission to see, change, and keep it on that board in Scrounge, including after you leave. The board's owner can remove you at any time.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Scrounge to:
- store or share content that is illegal, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to NCMEC;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
- harass, threaten, or exploit others, or promote violence;
- send invites to people who have not asked for them, or use invites to advertise;
- spread malware, or use Scrounge to host or distribute files for others;
- probe, overload, or bypass Scrounge's security or plan limits, or access other users' data; or
- scrape or resell Scrounge without our written permission.
We do not monitor boards in general, but we may review, remove, or disable access to content, and suspend or close accounts, when we believe these Terms or the law have been broken. Report content at abuse@opossumware.net (see reporting).
5. Copyright
We respond to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. See how to send a notice. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
6. Plans and payment
Scrounge has a free plan and paid plans with higher limits, listed on the Plans page. Paid plans are sold by our reseller and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, and their buyer terms cover payment, taxes, and refunds.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from "Manage subscription" on the Plans page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- We may change prices or plan limits. Price changes apply from your next billing period, and we will tell you in advance.
- If you move to a plan with lower limits, existing content stays, but you cannot add more until you are within the new limits.
- Content that people you share a board with add to it counts toward your limits.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using Scrounge at any time and ask us to delete your account at legal@opossumware.net. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue Scrounge. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to export your content first.
8. Disclaimers
Scrounge is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Scrounge will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Scrounge is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
10. Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, from claims by others arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of ? and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in ?, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Consumers in the EU and UK keep the protections of their local laws.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Scrounge after that, you accept the new Terms.
13. Other terms
If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of Scrounge. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about Scrounge.
